Cancun Nichupte Lagoon Fishing

Cancun's Nichupte Lagoon offers light tackle fishing in protected waters just minutes from the Cancun Hotel Zone. The lagoon's mangrove-lined shorelines, channels and shallow-water areas provide a very different experience from offshore deep sea fishing.

Our lagoon trips use artificial lures only, with light spinning tackle suited to the fish and conditions. Depending on the season and conditions, anglers can target snook, tarpon, barracuda and snapper while fishing around mangroves, channels and other productive areas throughout the lagoon.

The protected setting makes Cancun Lagoon a good option for anglers who prefer lighter tackle and calmer water, as well as families and anglers who want to spend part of their Cancun vacation fishing without committing to an offshore trip.

Isla Blanca Flats & Fly Fishing

Isla Blanca offers shallow-water flats fishing north of Cancun, with a large system of flats, lagoons and mangrove shorelines. The area is well suited to both fly fishing and light tackle fishing with artificial lures.

Depending on the season and conditions, anglers can target permit, tarpon, snook and bonefish. Fishing is done from shallow-draft boats designed for working the flats, allowing your guide to reach areas that larger boats cannot access.

Isla Blanca is the better choice for anglers looking for a more specialized flats fishing experience, particularly those interested in sight fishing with a fly rod or light spinning tackle.
