The 4-hour charter is our shortest Cancun Lagoon fishing option and works well for anglers who want to combine fishing with other activities during their vacation.

Because the fishing takes place within the lagoon system, very little of the trip is spent making long runs to offshore fishing grounds. Your guide can begin fishing mangrove shorelines, channels and other productive areas shortly after leaving the marina.

The protected lagoon environment also generally provides calmer conditions than an offshore fishing charter.

What Can You Catch in Cancun Lagoon?

The Nichupté Lagoon supports a variety of inshore game fish.

Depending on the season and conditions, anglers can encounter tarpon, snook, bonefish, jack crevalle, barracuda, snapper and other lagoon species.

Fishing areas and techniques vary according to tides, weather and fish activity. Your guide will concentrate on the areas offering the best opportunities during the trip rather than following a fixed route.

Fly Fishing & Light Tackle in Cancun Lagoon

Cancun Lagoon trips can be fished with either fly tackle or light spinning tackle.

The mangrove shorelines, channels and shallow-water areas allow anglers to cast artificial lures and flies for fish holding around structure or moving through the lagoon.

Both experienced anglers and guests with limited light-tackle or fly-fishing experience can fish the lagoon, with the guide adjusting techniques to the angler's experience and the conditions that day.

4-Hour Cancun Lagoon Fishing Charter — $350 USD

The charter price is for one or two anglers per boat.

A 20% deposit of $70 USD reserves the trip, with the remaining balance due on the day of the charter.

Cancun Lagoon Fishing Schedule

Morning departure times vary by season. The existing trip schedule lists 6:00 AM departures during spring and summer and 7:00 AM departures during fall and winter, with check-in 15 minutes before departure.

A 3:00 PM afternoon departure for the 4-hour trip.
